New in the Lounge: Quasar Hookahs and Raas 2 Thermal Heads
Maison Almaz in Canggu now runs Quasar hookahs and Raas 2 thermal heads, the French setup awarded at ShishaMesse, for steadier heat and cleaner flavour.
Our shisha masters have new tools. This week the lounge switched to Quasar hookahs and Quasar Raas 2 thermal heads, the French-engineered setup that has been collecting awards on the European shisha circuit, including best hookah of the year at ShishaMesse 2026 in Frankfurt.
What changes for you
- Steadier heat. The Raas 2 is a borosilicate glass bowl with an integrated heat-management system: the coals sit in a chamber above the tobacco instead of directly on the foil. The heat is even, easy to adjust, and stays stable for the whole session.
- Cleaner flavour. Even heat means the tobacco never scorches. You taste the blend, not the burn, from the first draw to the last.
- Longer sessions. A single Raas 2 holds 15 to 20 g of tobacco and runs comfortably for around an hour and a half before it needs anything more than a coal change.
- The same masters. Emil, Daniel and Playa still pack every bowl by hand and watch the heat throughout. The gear gives them more control; the craft is theirs.
Same menu, same offers
Nothing changes on the menu: Standard (Union Hookah) and Premium (Darkside), the Almaz Tasting in three journeys, and the daily offers, two for one on Standard by day, half-price second bowl by night.
